Ethiopian Welo Opal Necklace

A mesmerising beaded gemstone necklace designed with real Ethiopian Opal beads. The Ethiopian Opals are 100% natural and are full of colourful fire and flashes, the flashes are predominantly green and violet.

The Opals' flashes are hard to capture in a photo but these beads are full of colour - pictures are taken in natural daylight with no flash.

The necklace is available in 14k gold fill, 14k rose gold fill or Sterling silver, choose your preferred finish from the drop down menu above.

Great for layering with your other chains, pendants and necklaces or wear alone for an elegant pop of colour.

*** Ethiopian Opals must not get wet or they can lose their colourful flashes - see below on how to care for your Opal jewellery***

* Natural Opals measure 4-4.5mm
* The necklace measures 16" (41cm) and has a 2" extender chain making the entire length 18" (46cm)
* 14k Gold Fill, Rose Gold Fill or Sterling Silver finishes available
* Opal is the birthstone for October
* Saturnalia gift box included
* Free Worldwide Tracked & Insured Shipping

*** HOW TO CARE FOR ETHIOPIAN OPAL JEWELLERY
**Ethiopian Opals are natural gemstones that require some special care to maintain their internal fire & colourful flashes. Ethiopian Opals (unlike Australian Opals) are “hydrophane” - this means that they like to absorb moisture and when they do their appearance will change and they can lose their colour and turn brown. Ethiopian Opals can be dried out and their colour should return once dried, however this depends on how much moisture they absorbed. To maintain your Opal jewellery; pieces must be kept away from water and moisture, never swim, bathe or shower while wearing Opal jewellery and protect the Opals from dampness and moisture by always returning the jewellery to its Saturnalia box when not being worn. If you have any questions regarding the care of Opal jewellery, please send me a message.
